Florida executives with deeply rooted expertise in real estate market research, deal making and leadership take note: A position in regional property acquisition has opened that promises to be as rewarding as it is challenging.
A diversified and long term-focused company with more than 30 years in the industry is hiring an investment officer to oversee its purchase of commercial, mixed-use and multi-family properties and development sites in multiple markets. This company’s executives have closed more than $1.5 billion in transactions, and they’re looking for another team member who can identify and acquire the assets required for the firm’s continued growth. This position is compensated accordingly, with a very competitive base salary and bonus potential.
Reporting directly to the chief investment officer, the successful candidate will work to ensure this company knows its markets better than any other. That will entail deep analysis of local property valuations, rental trends, competition, potential acquisition targets and how they can coincide with the company’s objectives. The investment officer contacts the owners of targeted properties, coordinating with the company’s legal team while overseeing an acquisition’s due diligence and price parameters, based on detailed financial modeling, cash-flow projections and other relevant data. This executive will also oversee asset disposition, represent the company at industry events and coordinate closely with the company’s leadership.
Experience in commercial and multifamily property acquisition, portfolio management or real estate finance is required, as is experience in markets in Florida. Experience in the redevelopment of retail or multifamily assets is a plus. Other minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree, 10 years of related experience or some combination thereof. Needed skills include proficiency with Excel and Word, with knowledge of Argus strongly preferred. Candidates should also demonstrate their ability to build teamwork, adapt to change and manage competing demands on their time.
