San Diego Construction Purchaser Sought for Leader in Multifamily Housing

An opportunity has emerged for a purchasing professional to join a closely held company that takes pride in six decades of growth building desirable communities. The new San Diego construction purchaser will take charge of a range of responsibilities critical to the supply chain while reporting to the director of development. Duties include coordination of RFPs and RFQs for necessary goods, materials, supplies and inventory. This person will evaluate potential suppliers and cultivate relationships with vendors during site visits, walk-throughs and problem resolution. The construction purchaser also will conduct price analyses and negotiate with suppliers. Relevant record keeping will accompany inventory audits and issuance of purchase orders. He or she will work closely with the regional facilities manager to ensure continuity while providing a high level of customer service to internal departments.

The company seeks two years of relevant experience or training, along with experience in property management or facilities. Highly professional communication skills are a must, as is a track record of productive relationships with outside vendors. The successful candidate also will be team-oriented and eager to learn from constructive criticism.
