Managing Director Sought for National Multifamily Management Firm Based in Kansas City

An experienced multifamily property management executive will soon have the opportunity to lead a successful, growing organization currently searching for a leader eager to enhance its operations and maximize portfolio performance. With full profit-and-loss responsibility, this managing director will report directly to the CEO while working in concert with the organization’s other top leadership. The company currently manages 10,000 units across the U.S. and has many new development projects and acquisitions underway in partnership with leading investors, banks, communities and other institutions. The new director’s potential to make his or her mark on the organization as it expands will be significant.

This executive’s strategic contributions will be vital. These will include participation in top-level operational planning, as well as oversight of the organization’s annual budgeting. This leader will focus on maximizing property values for owners and investors in a continually expanding portfolio, while looking for ways to standardize and streamline processes for managing existing assets. Other management responsibilities will include ultimate oversight of the portfolio operations executed by the deputy managing directors for market-rate and affordable properties and their district managers. Duties will also encompass final negotiation of new management agreements while ensuring portfolios meet requirements for insurance, compliance and risk management. Additionally, he or she will oversee hiring of new managers and will be active in talent and leadership development of a large, diverse team.

The new managing director will come to the role with extensive experience managing multifamily operations across multiple markets. Ideally, this will include past roles involving both market-rate apartments and affordable properties. A relevant college degree is required, as is a CPM designation. This organization will be looking for someone with financial expertise who is successful at communicating and interacting with investors. As a leader, this person should place consistent emphasis on professionalism and customer relationships while building a culture of ownership and accountability in alignment with the company’s core values.
