Financial Project Manager Needed For a 2,000-Acre Mixed-Use Project in Austin

Are you an ambitious expert in commercial real estate finance, eager to apply your leadership to the full spectrum of land development? If so, an international investment firm’s opening for a financial project manager can offer the chance to take part in a new mixed-use project in Austin with a potential worth estimated at $2 billion. Beyond responsibility for the financial controls of this complex undertaking, the job is highly attractive for its potential to expose the right person to the entire land development and construction cycle. Working independently within a small team and reporting to the president and chief financial officer, this professional will enjoy a real opportunity to make his or her mark within an organization that’s handled 20 million square feet of CRE transactions globally over three-plus decades.

The new financial PM will also work closely with the director of construction management to help keep development activities on track. Underwriting and financial modelling will include cash flow analyses, progress reports, land development project forecasts and equity analyses. Duties will also encompass budget preparation and variance analysis, contract compliance, and oversight of bond issuance while also coordinating with the leaders of other projects on the creation of an operating-cost sharing model. At the same time, the new PM will work closely with relevant municipal authorities while also serving as the primary point of contact for the firm’s asset management and accounting teams.

This professional’s credentials will include a degree in finance or accounting, with an MBA or another relevant master’s degree preferred. Five to seven years of CRE financial management experience are required, although the firm is willing to teach the right financial expert the development side of the business. Past roles should demonstrate effective, hands-on management and the ability to coordinate large projects. Argus experience is preferred. And the firm is looking for an extensive track record of implementing financial controls, modelling and analysis within complex CRE projects and financing structures. What’s more, the successful candidate will be ambitious, independent and eager to take on a wide range of project leadership.

This organization’s executive team will be in Austin Aug. 3 – 4 to interview local candidates, with phone interviews scheduled for candidates out of state. Christopher Frederick Search Consultants, a trusted national executive search firm, has been retained to help this respected name in CRE find the right financial leadership for this project.
