This person will grow professionally through hands-on estimating and conceptual budgeting of projects ranging from 1 acre standalone retail stores (2,000sf – 10,000sf) to 7 acre grocery stores (45,000sf). Working alongside colleagues specializing in real estate and development, this professional will help with site selection, feasibility research, conceptual budgeting and coordination of construction estimates. He or she could also review site plans, architectural drawings, cost data and contractor bidding. As an essential member of the real estate, development and construction team, the new estimator also will scrutinize project specs and construction documents for value engineering opportunities.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and at least five years of relevant experience, with an emphasis on conceptual budgeting and design in retail projects in the 1 acre to 7 acre range. This organization looks for people who are self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset, yet who can also work well with a team in a fast-changing environment. Excellent communication skills and a sense of urgency are also mandatory.
