This executive’s ideas and leadership will drive NOI growth across 3,500 units in diverse markets that include apartments, affordable properties, senior housing and hotels. This professional will report to, and work closely alongside, the executive vice president overseeing the organization’s communities. The asset management VP will take charge of all internal property management operations for the portfolio, building its strategic plan and creating innovative ways to improve its business. He or she will manage two regional property managers and will take top-level responsibility for the development of the portfolio’s staff. This will include coordination of training programs and responsibility for maintaining compliance with the company’s high standards. The VP’s broader duties will encompass market analyses, financial reviews, budgeting and property plans in concert with other leaders in accounting, marketing and law. The new executive also will negotiate third-party service contracts and will take part in underwriting for new projects.
With responsibility for the portfolio’s financial and operational performance, this person will need a substantial track record in multi-family real estate operations and accounting. This firm is looking for eight to ten years of relevant supervisory experience, with a bachelor’s degree required and an MBA preferred. The successful candidate will have handled financial planning, budgeting and analysis in previous roles. Candidates also should bring experience with Internet and social media marketing, while knowledge of Yardi and similar software is a plus.
