A fun, friendly and fast-growing name in commercial real estate needs an exceptional project manager to join its expanding team in Chattanooga. For more than two decades, this private company has built some 900 retail projects in more than 30 states while also developing a rich portfolio of leased and owned assets. Just as important, it’s also built a culture of passionate, creative people who take pride in what they accomplish together.
As this organization continues to expand, it needs a development PM who is self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset – someone ready to take ownership of projects constructing new grocery-anchored shopping centers, stand-alone stores, multi-tenant retail buildings and big box/junior box-anchored regional retail centers. Working with the real estate team, he or she will assist with site selection, due diligence and relevant aspects of the purchase process. During construction oversight, the PM will secure necessary permits and approvals while monitoring schedules, budgets and drawings. Value engineering will be an important aspect of this process, as will effective management of contracted engineers, architects and other professionals. He or she also will serve as the owner’s representative during construction, building key relationships with national retail clients.
Candidates should bring at least three years of experience in roles that demonstrate ambition and progressively more responsibility. A bachelor’s degree is required, along with exceptional communication skills. LEED certification is a big plus, as is proficiency with AutoCAD and Photoshop. Experience with Microsoft Project or similar scheduling software is required, in addition to extensive knowledge of commercial real estate design, construction and leasing. This person will be both a constructive team member and an independent worker who can perform with a sense of urgency.
