Multifamily Portfolio Manager to Join Successful Firm’s Austin Leadership

An opportunity has emerged in Austin for the right multifamily professional to oversee multiple communities as a regional property manager. This person will join a closely held organization with diverse and expansive operations. These include ownership and management of more than 4,000 multifamily units nationwide, with a particular emphasis on affordable properties. In addition to a competitive salary and bonus, the new manager will enjoy the leadership challenge of cultivating a sizeable portfolio’s marketing strategy and fiscal performance.

Reporting to the director of property management, he or she will mentor and lead the portfolio’s team of on-site managers. Regular site visits will inform the new leader’s assessment of growth opportunities and the potential for capital improvements, which the regional property manager will oversee. The position’s scope includes assistance with property managers’ preparation of annual budgets, as well as ongoing monitoring of variance reports and forecasts. The regional property manager acts as the liaison between the firm and property owners, while also supervising compliance and risk management. Other duties potentially include oversight of acquisitions, dispositions and related due diligence.

This organization is looking for someone with a relevant bachelor’s degree plus five years of multifamily property management experience and at least three years of management experience at the regional level. Budgeting and relevant finance skills are a must, as is a talent for customer service. The successful candidate will also demonstrate experience with the low-income housing tax credit.
