A high-profile position has opened that will give the right leasing executive the opportunity to drive deals with national retailers on behalf of a closely held firm with 20 years in CRE. This organization has built an expansive portfolio of high-value shopping centers nationwide, as well as other property and specialized financial products. Its new leasing director will collaborate closely with the general manager of operations to execute new store openings while serving as a critical contributor to NOI growth, tenant prospecting and the completion of large-scale development projects.
This person will think like an owner, using his or her retail knowledge and creativity to enhance the value of assigned properties. He or she will craft merchandizing strategies with the executive team and will collaborate with the GM on new store opening plans. In addition to managing leasing division employees, the director will oversee third-party resources and coordinate tenant improvement requirements with the construction team. The leasing director will create and build relationships with potential anchor tenants, seek out development opportunities and negotiate lease terms. Insight shared with senior leaders will include regular reports, project competitive analyses and assistance with development budgets.
Candidates must bring an understanding of pro forma requirements and lender obligations. The new director will possess extensive retail contacts and a track record of success in retail leasing. Minimum requirements include five years of relevant experience, a bachelor’s degree and extensive knowledge of leases and deal making. This professional also will be an excellent negotiator and a natural communicator with unquestioned integrity.
