Are you a seasoned leader ready for full P&L responsibility within a multifamily firm managing 10,000-plus units across the U.S.? Are you looking for an established organization growing quickly through both acquisitions and development? Are you eager to take part in deals with leading investors, banks and other institutions? If so, you might have the chance to make a substantial impact on the strategy and operations of a respected firm in Kansas City as its next managing director.
Reporting directly to the CEO and working alongside other members of the organization’s top leadership, the new executive’s strategic contributions will be vital. These will include participation in top-level operational planning, as well as oversight of the organization’s annual budgeting. This leader will focus on maximizing property values for owners and investors in a continually expanding portfolio, while looking for ways to standardize and streamline processes for managing existing assets. Other management responsibilities will include ultimate oversight of the portfolio operations executed by the deputy managing directors for market-rate and affordable properties and their district managers. Duties will also encompass final negotiation of new management agreements while ensuring portfolios meet requirements for insurance, compliance and risk management. Additionally, he or she will oversee hiring of new managers and will be active in talent and leadership development of a large, diverse team.
The new managing director will come to the role with extensive experience managing multifamily operations across multiple markets. Ideally, this will include past roles involving both market-rate apartments and affordable properties. A relevant college degree is required, as is a CPM designation. This organization will be looking for someone with financial expertise who is successful at communicating and interacting with investors. As a leader, this person should place consistent emphasis on professionalism and customer relationships while building a culture of ownership and accountability in alignment with the company’s core values.
