Leader in Industrial Property Seeks Multi-State Portfolio Manager

Are you eager to step beyond your current expertise in property management? Are you invigorated by the prospect of negotiating the terms of capital projects? Does that ambition include a desire to deepen your knowledge of finance and development while driving wider initiatives that have a real impact on company results? If so, an international leader in industrial property could offer the opportunity for substantial professional development and new avenues for advancement. More than 800,000 square feet and dozens of tenants will fall under the purview of its new portfolio manager, who will report to the director of property management while working closely with other senior leaders. Based in Houston and traveling as-needed, this professional will have the chance to assume wide-ranging responsibility for the company’s portfolio across an expansive region within the U.S.

As part of a long-standing investment organization involved in financing, development, acquisition and leasing, this new team member will oversee every corner of the assigned portfolio. This includes the takeover of new and newly acquired properties, tenant improvements, property-level budgeting, long-term cap-ex planning and mentoring of an assistant manager. Relationships are paramount in this job. The new PM will ensure high tenant satisfaction and will successfully resolve issues with any and all stakeholders for superior customer service.

The company needs someone who is self-sufficient, honest and eager to expand his or her professional reach. He or she should come to the job with substantial property management experience that includes oversight of tenant improvement projects. In particular, this company is seeking a professional comfortable interacting with contractors and negotiating bids. A knack for – and enjoyment of – relevant accounting will also be essential, as will cap-ex knowledge and a solid grasp of construction processes in CRE. Experience in industrial property is highly preferred, though not required. The company also is looking for value engineering experience and a talent for cultivating beneficial vendor relationships. Candidates’ past positions should demonstrate the ability to manage complex projects and budgets effectively while creating strong ties with tenants.
