A successful builder with operations in several states needs a division president to lead its operations in Dallas. This opening will give the right person a chance to take ownership of the performance and business planning of a growing region for a company with a five-decade reputation for build quality and corporate integrity.
The job entails top-level oversight responsibility for land acquisition, development, project planning, purchasing, construction, sales, general administration and all other business activities of the division. Strategic planning is an essential element of this, with the new division president updating business plans as necessary and positioning the division for market changes and acquisition opportunities. This person will also set department budgets, cultivates relationships with external partners, closely monitor customer satisfaction and develop his or her staff. The division president will lead the management team to maximize the business results he or she will ultimately be responsible for.
This builder is looking for candidates with a relevant bachelor’s degree and at least seven years in homebuilding. Previous senior management experience involving profit and loss responsibility is preferred, as is leadership and management training. Candidates must demonstrate a history of strategic thinking, negotiation, personnel management, due diligence in land acquisition and an ability to think in terms of systems and processes.
