Prominent Homebuilder Hiring DC-Area Land Development Project Manager

One of the country’s most successful homebuilders with a four-decade presence in the region is searching for the right person to help lead its land development in Washington, D.C. This position represents a chance to join a growing division and guide the formation of new communities, from land acquisition, to delivery of finished lots, through final bond release and project close out.

This begins with due diligence of potential sites, followed by oversight of all permitting and construction activities. The land development manager will select and coordinate with the consultant team, including engineers, landscape architects, planners and attorneys. On the construction side, he or she will select bids and conduct value engineering while managing all site development field work and coordinating with utilities and governmental jurisdictions.

The position has responsibility for project budgets and schedules. It requires someone with a relevant bachelor’s degree and two to five years of field experience. Candidates should also have one to three years in management, with demonstrated judgment, negotiation and decision-making skills. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with strong organizational skills, possessing the ability to succeed in a team-oriented environment.
