A growing national homebuilder is seeking a seasoned purchasing manager to join its team in Hilton Head, S.C. This person will have the chance to help this division expand within a mature company with seasoned management and strong systems that help its people get things done. Additionally, this position offers the opportunity to take charge of a range of responsibilities within the division while serving as an important part of its leadership in this pleasant Atlantic coast community.
The purchasing manager will implement the pro-forma and budget for each project. This will entail creation of the scope of work, negotiation with suppliers and contractors, and management throughout construction to ensure budget compliance and analysis of deviations. Broader responsibilities take in materials research and purchasing strategy development to deliver ongoing cost reductions and process simplification. This builder produces semi-custom homes, and its newest team member will also accommodate reasonable changes to plans and estimate costs accordingly.
This role requires someone who is personable, adept at solving problems and skilled at communicating with a diverse range of professionals. Candidates should bring at least three years in construction project management or expediting. A relevant bachelor’s degree is preferred. The ideal candidate will also have experience managing multiple projects for a production homebuilder.
