A longtime leader in Michigan homebuilding is looking for the right executive to replace its controller recently promoted to senior leadership. This closely held company needs an equally ambitious professional to oversee its accounting operations and staff. He or she also will help shape the operations of a business celebrated by industry groups and the trade press for customer satisfaction and its growth across highly desirable markets in Southeast Michigan.
Working in Bloomfield Hills, the new controller will set financial policies, taking top-level responsibility for reporting and communicating projections to ownership. The executive will prepare annual budgets and supervise tax preparations. Other leadership duties will touch on investor relations, debt acquisition, insurance, assistance with real estate closings and administration of ERP software. Additionally, this professional will maintain critical relationships with lenders, title companies and other business partners.
The position calls for a CPA and at least three years of public accounting experience at a regional or national firm. Audit and real estate experience are preferred, and an MBA is a plus. Prior management experience is beneficial but not mandatory. The company also is looking for someone ambitious with the potential for professional growth and leadership development.
