An emerging leader in the market for single-family home rentals is looking for the right person to oversee the employees and properties of a Chicago-area portfolio. This professional will lead a team serving a newly defined region, potentially drawn to accommodate his or her current location. Reporting to the operations vice president, the Chicago operations director will take responsibility for meeting the portfolio’s goals for financial performance and customer satisfaction. The new operations leader in Chicago will supervise an assistant portfolio manager, a team of leasing agents and maintenance technicians. The director’s oversight will include lease renewals, accounts receivable and move-in/move-out processes to maximize income. He or she will conduct new resident orientations and maintain leasing and CRM software to ensure records accuracy. This professional also will oversee Section 8 documentation and processes, when relevant.

The job calls for at least four years of experience in real estate or single-family rentals, along with a current real estate license. A thorough understanding of landlord-tenant law is essential, as is proficiency with property accounting, Yardi and Salesforce or related software. The new manager will have excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, as well as a talent for organizing disparate tasks and deadlines.
