Leading Builder Hiring Strategic Sourcing Director in DFW

A leadership opening has emerged with a national homebuilder’s procurement team in Dallas-Fort Worth. The director of strategic sourcing will have the chance to shape the purchasing strategy across a growing division while driving cost savings and optimizing the supply chain. In addition to the professional challenges of the role, the director also will enjoy the support of a high-profile company known for its career development.

He or she will oversee procurement activities to ensure they meet standards for inventory, quality and cost. This will include top-level responsibility for supplier relationships and selection. Working closely with the division’s purchasing director, he or she will prioritize opportunities for process improvements and cost savings. Other responsibilities will include cost and quantity estimates for residential products, field compliance leadership and maintenance of applicable databases.

The job calls for seven to 10 years of supply chain experience, with a background in new home construction preferred. A degree is required, as is experience in management. Candidates should demonstrate extensive knowledge of purchasing and a talent for negotiation. ISCM accreditation or an equivalent credential is a plus.
