Housing Giant Offers Career Opportunity in Dallas Land Acquisition

Ambitious single-family housing professionals take note: A well-capitalized housing giant is searching for the right person to become its next land acquisition manager in Dallas. With a salary and bonus potential in the low 100s, this executive will report directly to the director of land acquisition within a market that this company ranks among its top five for capital allocation planned in the coming years. The ideal candidate will be someone with solid residential experience – whether in acquisition, development or a related field – with a strong desire to hone his or her land expertise. This professional will enjoy ongoing growth, the career opportunities of a national organization and an opportunity for true leadership.

This new manager will oversee the land acquisition process end-to-end, interacting with buyers throughout. Duties will include researching and locating suitable parcels for development, performing due diligence and negotiating purchase prices and contracts. This deal maker will also coordinate land entitlement, government review and planning activities with the company’s development team. He or she will monitor purchase agreements and coordinate joint venture agreements as necessary.

This role requires a bachelor’s degree in business, construction management, engineering or another related field. A strong background in homebuilding should include familiarity with the acquisition process. This could take the form of a background in development or previous experience in acquisition outside of a candidate’s current job duties. Most important to the role is a demonstrated passion for housing and an eagerness to close land deals as this division continues to grow. This company hires people who are driven, detail-oriented and who demonstrate excellent communication skills with stakeholders inside and outside the organization.
