Housing Giant Hiring Strategic Sourcing Director in Dallas

Advancement potential, strategic challenges and an opportunity to develop leadership competency await the next strategic sourcing director with one of the nation’s largest homebuilders’ Texas operations team, located in Dallas.

The strategic sourcing director is responsible for category management and procurement activities across the region, working to identify and drive cost savings, optimize supply chains and deliver value to the organization. He or she will manage key supplier relationships while also working to develop procurement talent capability throughout the organization. This individual will develop regional procurement strategies, comparing costs by trade categories and defining priorities alongside other divisional leaders. Talent development will encompass procurement employee training, continuous coaching and technical competency improvement. Other responsibilities include creation of new option programs, execution of value engineering initiatives and management of field compliance to program and quality standards.

The position calls for at least seven years of functional experience, with at least two years in management at the division or director level. A relevant bachelor’s degree is also required, with ISCM accreditation preferred. In addition to procurement and supply chain knowledge, the successful candidate will also have a thorough understanding of relevant finance, construction practices and management. Strong negotiation skills are a must, as is leadership ability in a continuous improvement environment.
