He or she will create scopes of work and execute bidding processes. In addition to negotiating new contracts, this professional will work with engineers and others to identify cost savings and reduce variances. The position also will involve unit pricing takeoffs, reconciling contract options, price adjustments, purchase order problem resolution and other responsibilities, possibly touching on rebates and energy programs.

This builder is looking for someone with five to seven years in purchasing and two years of direct field experience, with a relevant degree preferred. Candidates should have a thorough understanding of construction costs, materials and processes. At the same time, the senior purchasing agent will be skilled at report creation and database maintenance. Multi-tasking, prioritization and critical thinking skills are a must, as is the ability to handle complex negotiations.
