A company with three decades of diverse multifamily experience and more than 1,000 units currently under construction needs a strong leader to oversee two developments underway in California. Combined, they represent nearly 300 apartments at sites that will also offer indoor and outdoor amenities, as well as retail space at one location. In addition to the challenge of bringing these high-demand developments to completion, the new project manager will also enjoy competitive compensation and the stability of a company with a growing pipeline of new projects.
Working from the corporate office in Silicon Valley and reporting to the director of construction, this professional will take charge of both the people and the construction processes at these new communities in SV and Los Angeles. That will include oversight of superintendents, engineers and administrators as the new manager ensures the developments accomplish project objectives. He or she will coordinate closely with the corporate office and investment team, creating and communicating plans to meet those objectives. Responsibilities also touch on project budgeting, coordinating with consultants, maintaining cost information and updating project schedules. This professional will minimize risk exposure, reviewing subcontract agreements, enforcing insurance requirements and overseeing project close-out. Additionally, he or she will help coordinate work among investors, the corporate office and field personnel.
To guide these developments from start to finish, the new project manager will bring broad experience in multifamily construction, including previous work as a project manager. He or she will also demonstrate proven leadership skills in the context of complex projects, as well as the ability to communicate well with stakeholders at all levels. Other relevant professional traits include knowledge of budgets and contracts, along with experience leading engineers and other construction professionals. The successful candidate will also be an excellent decision maker with highly developed interpersonal skills.
