Prominent Dallas Firm Needs Maintenance Director for Class-A Multifamily Portfolio

A long-successful company is searching for the right person to help manage a portfolio of noteworthy residential properties. Over more than three decades, this organization has built a reputation for smartly designed communities and a commitment to the long term. The newest member of its leadership team in Dallas will oversee the maintenance operations and staff for about 2,500 Class-A multifamily units within master-planned neighborhoods noted for their walkable designs and new-urban aesthetic. In return, this person will enjoy competitive compensation, generous retirement contributions and no routine travel outside the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

As part of these properties’ in-house management, the maintenance director will take charge of capital expenditure planning and project oversight. Responsibilities also encompass preventative maintenance programs, companywide vendor contract negotiation and monitoring of product trends. This person also plays an important role in new construction, offering relevant insight into design decisions and overseeing acceptance of new units. Additionally, the position includes important people-management duties, including team goal setting, policy development and employee training.

The job requires at least ten years of multi-family property maintenance experience, with at least five years in management. In addition to technical knowledge, the company is looking for someone with a proven talent for leadership and staff development. Additional requirements include proficiency with Yardi, along with CPO and EPA refrigerant certifications. A bachelor’s degree and/or CAMT certification are preferred. The successful candidate will also possess relevant knowledge of bidding and budgeting, along with experience managing multiple large projects.
