A long-successful builder needs an enthusiastic leader to oversee its expanding franchise program from Atlanta. This is a regional position overseeing markets in Georgia and Alabama. The organization is committed to expansion, offering the potential for further geographic reach in the future as more builders are drawn to its stunning architecture and industry-leading business systems. This company’s builders have operated successfully in dozens of markets across six states since the franchise program began four decades ago. And the group vice president will have the chance to help shape this highly regarded company’s future growth.
He or she will create annual plans that guide the growth of the franchise program while reporting to the group president. This VP will identify new markets and create strategies to recruit the best custom homebuilders within them to make the most of this unique opportunity. Responsibilities will include the expansion of the brand’s model home network that has proven invaluable for showcasing the design, detail and quality that set this company apart in the eyes of home buyers. The VP will also work closely with franchise builders in an advisory role to help develop their individual business plans, locate model homes, build their organizations, improve product quality and achieve profitability.
Requirements for the position include experience in a management role at a local, regional or national homebuilding firm – for example, as a VP of sales or operations. Alternately, the company will consider candidates with prior experience running a custom homebuilding company with revenues in excess of $10 million. Candidates should have exceptional people skills and bring a strong track record in sales, as this will be crucial to facilitating growth. A well-rounded skill-set should also include experience in leadership, land acquisition, product development, purchasing and construction. Excellent communication and management skills, as well as computer proficiency, are also critical to the position.
Additionally, the successful candidate will have the potential for wealth generation that goes well beyond the traditional executive position. After the first year, with financial assistance from the company, the VP may elect to participate in ownership of a franchise with a managing partner who handles day-to-day operations. In this manner, the executive will experience first-hand the company’s innovative and proven approach to selling quality homes that its founders have developed over six decades in the business.
