Homebuilder’s Growth in Denver Calls for New Project Manager, Purchasing Agent

With its tremendous growth in the Denver market, a highly regarded national builder is searching for two new professionals eager to prove themselves and expand their leadership within the company.

Project Manager

The newest project manager for this award-winning organization will oversee all team members within his or her assigned communities. This includes staff in sales, construction and administration. With responsibility for P&L, product quality and expenditure control, the successful candidate will also develop relevant operating plans. Implementing them will involve interaction with a wide range of parties inside and outside the company while maintaining a high level of visibility to promote these new communities.

Candidates should have at least three years in residential construction and a relevant bachelor’s degree, with sales or sales management experience a plus. On top of that, finalists will be self-motivated multitaskers adept at problem solving. The position also requires experience with budgeting and handling relevant legal documents. The company is willing to consider candidates in related positions – such as a construction manager seeking new leadership skills in sales – or an ambitious candidate in a junior position looking to step up to the next level. Above all, this builder wants to hire someone who is hungry for new challenges, entrepreneurial, quick to adapt and sees the potential to grow into senior leadership roles within the company.

Purchasing Agent

This builder’s purchasing professionals in Denver need a new teammate to help analyze expenses and drive down job costs. The new purchasing agent will research and isolate potential problems in front-end budgets, purchasing processes and other areas while proposing solutions. His or her insight also will inform budgets, proformas and evaluations of closed jobs. The purchasing agent will work closely with the options coordinator to achieve proper margins on upgrades and options. While other duties include end-of-month land re-caps and soft cost reports for project managers and executives.

J.D. Edwards experience is preferred, and experience with the local trade base is helpful. While a background in residential construction purchasing is ideal, this company is willing to consider candidates with a basic knowledge of purchasing who want to break in to the homebuilding industry. The organization is looking for someone ambitious, eager to learn and with the potential to grow into a management position in the future.
