A national real estate investment and asset management firm is seeking an associate or senior analyst in Philadelphia to help the company meet its capital deployment goals. The firm makes direct and indirect investments in both distressed and income-generating real estate throughout the United States and has about $2 billion of diversified real estate assets under management. The firm is headquartered in Philadelphia, Pa., and has other offices in New York City, Los Angeles, Denver and Omaha.
The company has built a large multifamily investment platform. The successful candidate will be primarily involved in the evaluation of multifamily real estate investment opportunities. The candidate will report to the vice president of acquisitions and will be expected to work on acquisition sourcing and underwriting.
Selected responsibilities include:
- Underwriting cash flows for potential investments
- Analyzing location characteristics and demographic trends
- Preparing comp valuation and market analyses, including sales and leasing comparables
- Coordinating and executing property-level due diligence
- Creating investment committee reports
- Interfacing with external partners and operators, contractors, senior lenders, property managers, leasing brokers, vendors and other consultants
- Performing general research and monitoring financial markets, real estate markets, the interest rate environment and overall economic conditions in order to evaluate on-going risks and opportunities
The successful candidate must be a detail-oriented person with excellent analytical and communication skills. The candidate must have excellent financial modeling Excel skills. The candidate should also be proficient in PowerPoint and Word. The candidate will need a proven history of being extremely self-motivated, highly organized and an open communicator who is eager to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate degree, preferably in finance, real estate, accounting or economics. Prior professional experience in real estate is required, ideally three to five years of experience.
