With a promising new year ahead, why not consider a new direction for your career? A public homebuilder with a presence in more than half a dozen states needs a driven, experienced leader for its finance team in Dallas. Over more than 50 years, this company has built its reputation around award-winning design, superior craftsmanship and build quality. It can offer the career opportunities of an organization with a national reach. What’s more, its superior land holdings in Dallas have positioned the division for significant future growth.
The new vice president will staff and manage the financial functions of the division while helping to lead its business planning. This includes the hiring and development of team members and ultimate responsibility for related back-office functions and compliance. This professional will work closely with the division president and acquisition executives to analyze potential deals while providing financial analysis of submarket data to inform strategic decisions. He or she will also coordinate with the sales and marketing department to ensure optimum pricing and production levels for each community. Broader leadership duties include oversight of annual business planning and quarterly project budget updates. Other responsibilities encompass post-acquisition project review and support for the preparation of division financial statements.
Accomplishing this will require demonstrated leadership talent and deep experience in management. A bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting is required, with an MBA degree and/or CPA designation preferred. Experience with complex financial analysis and forecasting should be complimented by proficiency with J.D. Edwards and Microsoft Access. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, effective at managing multiple priorities, as well as the budgets, timelines and people that come with them.
