This professional will oversee multiple subdivisions at any given time, coordinating with estimators and ensuring schedules are met. Reporting to the division president, he or she also will take responsibility for budgeting and contractor selection. The project manager will work closely with architects, engineers and other consultants, as well as municipal officials throughout the permitting process. He or she will minimize delays, resolve problems and take charge of overall construction strategy.
This is an ideal role for someone working for a general contractor who’s interested in a switch to the owner’s side that offers more interaction with homebuyers and fellow building professionals. An established background in residential construction is required and should include estimating experience. The company will be looking for extensive technical knowledge relevant to the position. As well, the successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills and consistent attention to detail.
