A leadership opportunity has opened with one of the premier organizations specialized in land acquisition for the country’s most successful homebuilders. This consulting and private equity firm needs a land acquisition director to help a member of the Builder 100 expand in two of the fastest-growing markets in the Southeast. He or she will work with a robust team of in-house demographers, planning experts and others who’ve built exceptional institutional knowledge of residential markets across the country while creating real value in their clients’ property pipelines. The company’s culture is entrepreneurial and fast-paced. This position will grant the right person compensation heavily weighted toward performance bonuses that offer the potential to earn upward of three times base salary. This opportunity is ideal for those who’ve demonstrated both a strong work ethic and a willingness to take risks to achieve greater success for themselves and the firm’s clients.
Working in Charlotte and Raleigh, N.C., the new acquisition director will identify all potential land purchases envisioned in the company’s long-term goals for these markets. This will entail analysis of a range of map resources, prior sales data and additional market intelligence to craft acquisition plans and pricing strategies. This professional will build crucial relationships with land owners, developers, investors, engineers and others during the acquisition process. He or she also will manage all due diligence of target properties while monitoring contract terms throughout the deal. Concurrently, the new director will stay on top of municipal decisions and other external factors, including land-use regulations, easements, utility requirements, political considerations and relevant hearings.
The successful candidate will be a tenacious negotiator with a talent for analytical reasoning. As part of a team at the heart of this firm’s business in North Carolina, this person will also be highly collaborative, eager to learn new skills and receptive to coaching. Requirements for the job include a bachelor’s degree and prior positions in land acquisition or development. Candidates should bring experience negotiating, coordinating and executing contracts, along with a track record of strong judgement and decision-making. This company hires highly motivated people who have a passion for their work and a desire to exceed goals.
