Based in Sarasota, he or she will work alongside engineers, architects, superintendents and other company-employed professionals to ensure every build meets this organization’s high standards. The project manager will supervise all contractors and subcontractors at each site, potentially overseeing multiple projects at once. He or she will serve as a critical point of contact for contractors, tenants and company leaders. The PM’s responsibilities will include bid solicitation, supplier negotiation, coordination of design review and enforcement of construction schedules. This professional also will ensure project safety, code compliance, efficient construction practices and successful problem resolution with clients.
The position requires an associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management alongside three to five years minimum in commercial construction management. The company is looking for a mix of experience in retail construction, project management and estimating. Candidates should demonstrate successful management of contractors and exceptional skills in communication and negotiation. The project manager also will be knowledgeable of construction costs, takeoffs, bid analysis and construction scheduling software.
