Award-Winning Bay Area Builder Needs Land Acquisition Manager

Want to work for a regional builder that consistently wins awards for its design, marketing and customer satisfaction? Would you like to close deals in one of the most desirable suburban markets in the greater Bay Area? If so, a recent opening for a land acquisition manager could offer the chance to join a growing organization while shaping the deals essential to its ongoing success.

Reporting to the company’s director of land, he or she will hunt down potential development sites, evaluate their feasibility and negotiate purchases. Market research will involve close work with title companies, brokers, local officials, property owners and others who might offer insight into potential deals. The acquisition manager will prepare detailed feasibility studies with market pricing data, development cost estimates, environmental constraints and other information critical to buying decisions. This professional will work out options or purchase terms with legal counsel while hiring consultants to conduct needed environmental and engineering studies. He or she also will maintain strong relationships with relevant government agencies, participating in hearings as needed.

This important position requires extensive knowledge of land acquisition and development for single-family communities. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree and at least four years of related experience. This company is also looking for someone with integrity who’s skilled at working with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
