N.J. Construction PM Needed for National Firm with Long-Term Focus

Based in the New York metro area, the New Jersey-based project manager will act as the owner’s representative during large endeavors in new construction, multifamily renovations and retail tenant improvements.

He or she will take charge of contract administration and a broad range of project oversight while reporting to the senior vice president of construction. During plan review, this professional will ensure the accuracy of specifications and offer advice for construction and value engineering improvements. The project manager will negotiate with contractors after preparing scopes of work and RFPs. Throughout construction, this professional will coordinate review schedules and the work of design teams while closely monitoring construction for compliance with plans, schedules and relevant regulations.

The position calls for three to 10 years of experience with a general contractor or a developer of new multifamily buildings. Candidates also should bring a relevant degree and extensive knowledge of multifamily construction. Experience with office and retail construction is a plus. The successful candidate will be familiar with the legal, engineering and accounting principles associated with this type of construction project management. This company also is looking for someone with excellent presentation skills who’s shown the ability to manage varying projects simultaneously.
