Reporting to the vice president of land development, the new manager will enjoy a broad scope of responsibilities to ensure projects succeed. These include development of budgets and schedules while managing cash flow as projects move forward. He or she will help hire and manage third-party experts producing surveys, studies and additional data to establish budgetary guidelines. The development manager also will work closely with the planning team to assist with due diligence, product design and site plans. Permitting and utility construction scheduling will fall within this professional’s duties, as will the change-order process.
Minimum qualifications for this role include a relevant bachelor’s degree and five years in residential land development or planning. The successful candidate will have experience in related bidding, entitlement and construction processes. Managing projects from end to end also will require financial acumen and excellent communication skills.
