Fun and Successful Milwaukee Firm Seeks New Multifamily Project Manager

A family-owned business with a diverse property portfolio in Wisconsin is hiring an ambitious professional to help lead its new construction. This project manager’s talents will prove essential to the success of new condos, apartments, senior residences and other assets in the years ahead. Noted for its focus on employee relationships and wellbeing, the company offering this role wants someone who can grow his or her skills across multiple projects over the long term while building on the organization’s reputation for high-quality construction and community service.

The project manager will lead work at new building sites from start to finish. This will begin with plan review and careful coordination with city officials during permitting and subsequent inspections. He or she will prepare or review scope-of-work documents for subcontractors and analyze the resulting bids. The PM will track subcontractor performance throughout the project, ensuring contract compliance and a clean, safe work site. At the same time, he or she will coordinate utility installation, contractor payments and change orders, continuously looking for value engineering opportunities.

The ideal candidate’s background in multifamily will include past projects with underground parking, constrained project sites and oversight of the subcontracting process. The PM will bring a minimum of five years in construction with experience in condos, apartments and light commercial buildings. Field supervision experience is required, as is familiarity with administrative duties that include estimating, scheduling and cost control. The nature of this job requires effective communication with co-workers across the organization, as well as clients, subcontractors and consulting professionals. The successful candidate will come to the job with a high level of energy and a talent for organizing competing priorities.
