A new commercial construction professional will soon join a respected, family-run business to oversee a broad range of project management that will also touch on oversight of leased properties and residential development. With extensive holdings in Washington, D.C., submarkets, this organization has built a reputation over several decades for diversified growth, professional integrity and a commitment to philanthropy in its Maryland community. The new position will be attractive for a construction management professional eager to expand his or her responsibilities across multiple disciplines while working closely with the company’s top leadership.

In addition, he or she will help lead new residential development projects. This professional will ensure projects are completed according to the schedules, budgets and quality standards set by the company while hiring and supervising contractors. Beyond construction, this person will also act as the owner’s representative in overseeing commercial assets and residential units managed by a third party. This will entail review of operating and CAM budgets, monitoring asset performance, keeping an eye on marketing activities and ensuring adequate maintenance of the properties. The position will also help oversee CRE leasing activities while assisting other executives in lease negotiations, project financing and capital improvement planning. For properties under construction, the new PM will serve as an owner’s representative during reviews of site and building plans before facilitating contractor selection and enforcing contract compliance. As opportunities emerge, this person will also take part in the feasibility and acquisition processes for target properties.
The company is looking for five to 10 years of progressive responsibility in commercial construction and development. A related bachelor’s degree is required, along with familiarity with contract enforcement, architectural drawings and financial analysis. Previous project management experience should show attention to detail and skillful organization of varied employees and contractors.
