The vice president of land will coordinate with a range of stakeholders to find and finance the property critical to this builder’s growth. These professionals include other members of the leadership team, landowners, attorneys, engineers, permitting authorities, contractors and developers. The process begins by researching new investment opportunities, developing financial proformas and gathering diverse financial information to present to investors. From there, this person will take part in the team that reviews documents and drawings relevant to the target properties. Duties also include budget preparation, bid evaluation and the financial analysis needed to bring deals to fruition.
This position requires an extensive background in finance, and the successful candidate will have a track record of working and negotiating with high-profile investors that include banks and REITS. The company is looking for at least five years of experience in real estate acquisition or relevant positions in finance. Additionally, candidates should be knowledgeable of residential and high-density residential real estate and development. This executive will be a persuasive negotiator who can solve problems and work easily with a wide variety of people.
