Reporting directly to the chief investment officer, the new development manager will oversee the execution of large development and redevelopment projects. As new opportunities emerge, he or she will run pro-formas, conduct project analyses and develop budgets and financial schedules. This person will negotiate leases, purchase agreements and other contracts while monitoring consultants and construction activity. The development manager will stay abreast of market trends and relevant public policy, working closely with public officials and other stakeholders relevant to the process.
This company is looking for someone extremely adept at both internal and external communication, with demonstrated customer service skill and a talent for coordinating complex tasks. The ideal candidate will be either a seasoned senior development manager or a rising star in retail development looking to take on greater responsibilities. Retail experience is required. Candidates should also show prior success in evaluating real estate investment opportunities and managing third-party general contractors on jobs up to $10 million. Other requirements include a bachelor’s degree, with a relevant master’s degree preferred, and at least three years of project coordination experience.
