A leading global real estate investment management firm is seeking an experienced investment/fund accounting executive to join its leadership team. This company owns a portfolio valued in excess of $7 billion and manages capital for some of the largest pension systems in the world. Its team of executives is looking for the right leader to join them in overseeing the firm’s critical accounting function from their offices in the Carolinas.

Working closely with the CFO, the successful candidate will be responsible for reporting (asset, portfolio and corporate), corporate budgeting and business planning. In addition to frequent interaction with the executive leadership, he or she will directly supervise a team of managers with ultimate responsibility for a staff of approximately a dozen accountants. In addition to overseeing the reporting on financial objectives, key responsibilities include fund and investment level reporting, preparation of forecasts, setting performance benchmarks and formulating budgets. The position will also touch on financial planning, cash management, regulatory compliance, personnel management, legislative affairs and other areas of leadership.

To accomplish this, successful candidates should demonstrate their experience with financial statement analysis, report creation, budgeting and project management. Leadership, communication and presentation skills are also critical. The position requires a relevant degree, experience with relevant GAAP requirements and a CPA designation. Proficiency with relevant software is also preferred.
