A national real estate investment and asset management firm is seeking a vice president of acquisitions to help the company meet its capital deployment goals. The successful candidate will report to the senior vice president of acquisitions and will have counterparts who cover other geographic regions of the country. The new hire will work with limited oversight in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Selected responsibilities include:
- Sourcing potential investment opportunities that meet the company’s investment objectives
- Maintaining and building a network of relationships with brokers, lenders and owners
- Traveling frequently (3-4 trips per month) to inspect potential investment opportunities and to keep abreast of market activity
- Working with the company’s acquisition team to underwrite potential investment opportunities
- Preparing bids and negotiating letters of intent and purchase contracts, as necessary
- Overseeing due diligence and closing
This firm is searching for candidates in Denver but might also consider highly qualified applicants based in Houston. In addition to a relevant bachelor’s degree, minimum requirements include prior experience with multifamily acquisitions. Seven to 10 years of real estate investment experience is preferred. The candidate should be able to demonstrate an excellent understanding of real estate fundamentals and asset valuation, attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
