A successful regional homebuilder is searching for the right person to lead its CAD team. The production/CAD manager will directly oversee CAD producers while ensuring a smooth flow of home plans through the department. This role offers the chance to work with leaders in a diverse cross-section of a respected, privately held company that’s grown into one of the largest builders in Texas.

Its newest manager will review priorities with the company’s senior architect to set timelines for the production of drawings, assigning work accordingly. He or she will also consult with engineers and the director of construction to review designs and construction methods, as needed. In addition to examining submitted work for accuracy, the production/CAD manager will train CAD producers to ensure they are working with the most current standards.

This position requires the ability to manage the production of blueprints, elevations and related design documents for single-family homes. This includes familiarity with architectural language and proficiency with AutoCAD. A bachelor’s degree is advantageous, but not required. Knowledge of Texas building codes is also a plus. Moreover, the successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to run an effective team while managing multiple projects simultaneously. He or she will also be effective at communicating with people at all levels of the organization.
