Advancement-Minded Sales and Marketing Manager Needed for Regional Builder in Richmond, Va.

A family-owned homebuilder that’s successfully grown its operation across the Southeast for nearly 30 years needs an experienced manager to lead its sales in Richmond. This builder has already launched five communities in this market, with more investment in the pipeline. What’s more, the company is widely known in the region for the quality of its work environment, as evidenced by a history of low turnover. With budgeting and strategic authority, the sales and marketing manager will take a significant operational role in the division. This professional will develop a yearly business plan that encompasses land positioning, product development, market trends and workforce capabilities. He or she will take responsibility for hiring and developing managers and their sales team. The sales and marketing manager will also develop cost control measures and workflow processes for product development, warranty programs and other areas. These will help the division achieve the budgeted sales, margins and business objectives that this leader will be accountable for meeting.

The position calls for extensive leadership and new-home experience. It requires a minimum of 10 years of high-volume homebuilding experience, with at least five years in management. Sales and marketing knowledge should encompass sales management, including recruitment and performance management. Past positions should also demonstrate experience with the entire homebuilding process, from land acquisition through warranty administration. Other traits this manager will possess include critical thinking skills, resolve under deadline pressure and the ability to communicate easily with customers, agents, vendors and other stakeholders.
