Tampa Construction VP Needed for National Builder of Move-Up Homes

One of the country’s premiere builders of move-up homes is looking for an executive with the right mix of drive, talent and experience to lead the construction and customer service teams of one of its strongest divisions. This company has earned respect over many decades for its build quality and growth in several states across the country. The new vice president of construction in Tampa will benefit from a division that has excellent land positions and a stable, long-term team of managers. This role will put the right person at the forefront of a market where the company expects to double its presence in the next two years. The corporate culture will also allow his or her leadership to drive results in more than a dozen communities.

Oversight will encompass end-to-end construction operations and the customer service teams that compliment them. While acting as a strategic partner to the division president, this person will be given a wide range of responsibilities to ensure quality and efficiency across this builder’s communities. Duties include employee hiring and development, trade partner selection and management, process development for quality control, customer satisfaction, oversight of compliance programs and implementation of the company’s safety program. He or she will forecast financial requirements – scheduling expenditures and closely monitoring variances. The new vice president will also implement construction science improvements to cut costs and defects while improving build quality and cycle time.

To implement the company’s vision and deliver the results demanded of this position, the vice president will exhibit a high level of confidence, focus and team building. Past positions should demonstrate strong management skills and a thorough understanding of architecture, building practices and engineering relevant to land development and home construction. This person will be an expert in construction science with an in-depth knowledge of building codes. A bachelor’s degree is required, as is proficiency with BuildPro and Hyphen. Candidates should show that they’re results-focused and have a talent for managing multiple projects, people and budgets in a demanding environment. They should also be adept at interpersonal communication and building rapport both inside and outside the company.
