The new senior designer will create homes in a wide variety of styles, including new lines of townhouses and upmarket detached dwellings with traditional and Mediterranean stucco styling. The position is located in Houston, a community where housing demand is among the highest in the country. The ideas and creative insight of the new in-house designer will contribute to products across this company’s portfolio. He or she will help develop a diversity of new floor plans while refreshing elevations for existing designs. This person will then analyze preliminary designs for cost compliance, value engineering and overall efficiency. Working closely with estimating professionals, purchasing and the production team, the senior designer will also ensure proper design implementation.
This position requires effective communication and 5 to 10 years of related experience, with an emphasis on high-end residential architecture. A bachelor’s in architecture or a similar field and knowledge of AutoCAD are also required. The work will involve running multiple projects simultaneously, often with short notice and under significant deadline pressure. Time management, teamwork and attention to detail are essential.
